I’ve created a WordPress plugin called bit.ly linker (download link) that anyone can use for free to automatically create bit.ly links for every post on their blog. This plugin was inspired by my earlier post called Automatically create bit.ly links in WordPress.
In this post I talked about including Analytics tracking in the bit.ly links so that Google Analytics would register them rather than simply adding them to Direct Traffic.This plugin will take all of the coding out of the job – all you need to do is add you bit.ly username and API Key and choose the name that you want the links to appear as in Google Analytics and you are good to go.
